Dr. Joseph D. Musto, M.Sc., Ph.D., BCLD/CC (ABB)
President and Clinical Laboratory Director
Dr. Joseph Musto is our President, Director of Laboratory Medicine, Medical Director and Founder. Formerly, the Medical Director, Director of Laboratory Medicine, Founder and President of Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine for more than 20 years, then founded Microbiology Dx. Dr. Musto has been involved in laboratory medicine and methods development for clinical testing for over 40 years, with more than 20 publications and 7 issued patents. Dr. Musto earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry (1), M.Sc. in Organic and Physical Chemistry (2), the equivalent of an M.Sc. in Biomedical Science and a Doctorate in Medicinal Chemistry(3). Dr. Musto is a Board Certified Clinical Laboratory Director, and spent 10 years pre-and post-doctoral training in clinical laboratory science before establishing his first clinical pathology laboratory in 1979. In addition, Dr. Musto is formerly an Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Bioanalysis (BCLD), a Board Certified Clinical Consultant, a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (FACB), a Fellow of the Association of Clinical Scientists, Federally Certified (CLIA) and State Certified (DPH) as a Clinical Laboratory Director and Clinical Consultant in the specialties of Clinical Pathology. He maintains his board certifications by attending continuing medical education conferences yearly. He holds a Certificate of Qualification from the New York State Department of Health as a Laboratory Director and additionally, has held certifications in Clinical Chemistry, Medical Technology (Clinical Laboratory Sciences), Bioanalysis and Infection Control. He is a Clinical Scientist Member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and has been Team Leader for the College of American Pathologists accreditation inspection teams. His is a Diplomat Member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Ilness (ISEAI). He has lectured extensively at local and national clinical meetings and to clinical pathology residents as well as RNs, LPNs and CNAs in the nursing home field relating laboratory medicine to patient care.
Additionally, he was a cofounder of Reference Diagnostics, Inc. (RDI) with Dr. Joseph Lawlor. RDI developed and marketed clinical assays for LDL-Cholesterol, Magnetic HDL-Cholesterol, Total Iron Binding Capacity and C-Reactive Protein. He is available for consultation.

George Hrabec, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Director of Microbiology
George is our Director of Microbiology. He has over 40 years of experience as a Microbiologist in both hospital medical centers and in clinical reference laboratories. In addition to his strong background in bacteriology, his subspecialty and expertise is in the field of Mycology. George was a lecturer of Epidemiology at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, for many years. He has been actively involved in hospital infection control, safety and quality assurance programs, lectured in Clinical Microbiology nursing programs, has consulted in industrial biological contamination programs and has been on the College of American Pathologist accreditation inspection teams. He is available for consultation.

Erum Moin, B.Sc.
Technical Director of Sales and Marketing
Erum has 16 years of expertise in the clinical reference laboratory field. She has performed clinical testing in chemistry, hematology, immunology, serology, blood bank, genetics, with a strong focus in microbiology, and is involved in testing at Microbiology Dx. Along with laboratory testing, Erum has experience in patient care and regulatory affairs as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Cardiovascular Medicine for Partners HealthCare. Charlie has over 30 years of experience in the clinical reference laboratory field in general management. Along with his engineering background, Charlie specializes in the business management, general laboratory and safety operations.
